Lower House Speaker Engages in Strategic Talks with DRC Senate and National Assembly Presidents


Kinshasa: Lower House Speaker participated in significant discussions with the Presidents of the DRC Senate and National Assembly in Kinshasa. These talks were held alongside the 84th session of the Executive Committee of the African Parliamentary Union (APU), leading up to the 47th Conference of Presidents of National Parliamentary Assemblies.



According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Speaker Talbi Alami expressed his satisfaction at contributing to the APU Conference, extending his congratulations to Boji Sangara, the newly elected President of the DRC National Assembly. The discussions underscored the unique and longstanding relations between Morocco and the DRC, emphasizing shared history, values, and cooperation.



The talks highlighted mutual respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, along with support for each other in regional and international forums aimed at fostering development and stability. Talbi Alami also focused on Morocco’s initiatives under King Mohammed VI, such as the Atlantic Initiative and the Africa-Atlantic gas pipeline project, showcasing Morocco’s commitment to peaceful dispute resolution.



Both parties acknowledged the robust parliamentary cooperation between their nations, emphasizing the role of parliamentary diplomacy in enhancing bilateral relations. They discussed the importance of friendship groups and the exchange of visits to strengthen communication and collaboration.



Morocco sent a large delegation to the event, led by Talbi Alami, including members of the Moroccan Parliament’s National Section to the APU and representatives from both the House of Representatives and the House of Councillors.
