Mohammed VI International University Hospital in Rabat Introduces Technological Innovations and Regional Firsts


Rabat: The Mohammed VI University Hospital Complex of Rabat was officially inaugurated by King Mohammed VI, marking a significant milestone in Morocco’s healthcare landscape. The hospital, designed to enhance the country’s healthcare offerings, currently features 600 beds, with plans to expand to 1,000 beds. This expansion aligns with the Royal Vision of providing citizens access to a high-quality and accessible healthcare structure.



According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the hospital spans an area of 190,000 m² and is a part of the Mohammed VI Foundation for Science and Health. It is a new-generation facility equipped with digital tools and artificial intelligence, featuring cutting-edge technologies. The hospital’s integrated operating block covers 3,400 m² and includes all surgical specialties, such as robotic surgery, neurosurgery, neuro-navigation, and a robotic scanner.



The hospital also boasts a treatment unit for severe burns, equipped with modern technologies that meet international standards. Notably, it houses a hyperbaric and hypobaric oxygen therapy center, which is the first of its kind in both Morocco and Africa. Additionally, the complex integrates two essential entities: the Mohammed VI International University Hospital of Rabat and the Mohammed VI University of Health Sciences of Rabat.
