Morocco’s CESE President Meets Equatorial Guinea President to Bolster Institutional Cooperation


Malabo: Morocco’s CESE President was received in an audience by Equatorial Guinea’s President, with discussions focused on enhancing institutional cooperation between the two nations. The meeting was attended by Marcelino Owono Edu, President of Equatorial Guinea’s National Council for Economic and Social Development, along with Morocco’s Ambassador to Malabo, Ghoulam Maichane, and senior officials from both councils.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the session underscored the exceptional quality of relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, which are based on African solidarity and mutual respect. Amara, representing Morocco, emphasized the shared vision of addressing the continent’s major development challenges and reiterated Morocco’s commitment to regional integration in line with the Vision of HM King Mohammed VI. This commitment forms the cornerstone of Morocco’s African cooperation, with the CESE actively promoting citizen-centered agendas for sustainable
development.

President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo of Equatorial Guinea praised Morocco’s pioneering role in driving the structural transformation of African economies, highlighting its model for sustainable and inclusive development. He acknowledged the role of Morocco’s CESE in strengthening regional integration and aiding the Equatorial Guinean National Council for Economic and Social Development’s efforts to join UCESA.

The President also expressed optimism about the cooperation prospects between the two institutions to support public policies targeting shared challenges, particularly in economic diversification and youth employment.
