Rabat: In statements to MAP on the sidelines of this one-day meeting attended by more than 150 journalists, content creators, and media professionals from around the world, they highlighted that the roles of traditional media and new forms of media are increasingly intertwined, noting that both entities can share experiences and expertise.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the participants in this conference, launched by an initiative called Future Media Initiative under the supervision of Moroccan public relations experts, indicated that social networks have established themselves in recent years on the media landscape, pointing out that traditional media must adapt to these new changes.
In this context, former French journalist at Canal+, Pierre Ménès, stated that influencers have now become important actors due to the speed of information flow, adding that social networks today compete with traditional media in disseminating information as quickly as possible.
“The challenge that new forms of med
ia must face lies in the credibility of information disseminated on a large scale,” he emphasized, continuing that it is essential to distinguish between professional influencers and those lacking credibility.
For his part, the co-founder of Future Media Initiative, Ismail El Hassani, indicated that the purpose of this conference is to shed light on topics related to the journalism of tomorrow.
He also added that the conference is an opportunity to discuss various subjects, such as new media powers and the emergence of a new informational order, considering that new forms of media strengthen the role of traditional ones in covering major events.
As for Omar Khyari, advisor to the president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), he pointed out that Future Media Initiative includes traditional media and content creators worldwide, noting that members of this network are visiting the Kingdom’s sports facilities just weeks before the kick-off of CAN 2025.
He also noted that this meeting aims to pro
vide an opportunity for the media and content creators to learn about the strategy implemented by the FRMF for the development of football, as well as the sports infrastructure and exchange with both traditional and modern media, in line with the enlightened vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
