Rabat: The United States thanked His Majesty King Mohammed VI for the vision and leadership that are propelling the 250-year partnership to new heights. Speaking at a press conference following his meeting on Wednesday in Rabat with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates Nasser Bourita, the U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau expressed his gratitude.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Landau thanked “President Donald Trump and His Majesty King Mohammed VI for their vision and leadership,” noting that this vision is driving the longstanding partnership between the United States and Morocco to new achievements. He highlighted the shared history of the two nations as strategic allies and valued partners over the past 250 years.
The U.S. diplomat also emphasized the significance of diplomatic ties by mentioning that the United States has “the oldest diplomatic building in the world in Tangier, and the newest one will open its doors on Thursday in Casablanca.” This, he suggested, is a testament to the enduring commitment and strong relationship between the two countries.
Landau concluded his remarks by underscoring Morocco’s role as an essential, stable, and strategic partner not only in North Africa and on the African continent but also on the international stage.
