Bayt Mal Al Quds Agency Launches Campaign to Aid Palestinian Olive Farmers

Al-Ram:The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency, under the Al-Quds Committee chaired by King Mohammed VI, has initiated the “Aouna 2026” campaign in Al-Ram, north of Al-Quds. This effort, supported by the Moroccan Association for Support to Reconstruction in Palestine and the Commune of Fez, aims to assist Palestinian farmers during the olive harvest season.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the campaign will benefit approximately 2,250 farmers across 20 areas in the Al-Quds governorate, including 16 agricultural zones. The initiative provides equipment to expedite the harvest, enhance production quality, and preserve crops.

The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency announced that the “Aouna” campaign is part of its ongoing efforts to support Al-Quds residents, particularly small-scale farmers, aligning with the directives of King Mohammed VI. The agency focuses on bolstering the Palestinian agricultural sector through practical programs.

Fayha Najm, Director General of Agriculture in the Al-Quds Governorate, emphasized the campaign’s significance this year due to “unprecedented” attacks on farmers, with more than 87 farmers targeted in areas like Jaba, Beit Anan, Silwan, and Abu Dis. Additionally, over 70 farmers in Mikhmas face challenges accessing their land.

For the seventh year, the agency’s teams are distributing equipment such as battery-powered mechanical harvesters, tarps, and bags to aid in collecting and transporting olives efficiently. This equipment reduces the time olives remain in fields, minimizing theft risk.

The “Aouna” campaign is part of the agency’s continued efforts, following projects like “Soumoud,” launched in January 2026, and “Field Schools,” initiated in November 2025, which focus on capacity building and field-based learning for farmers.
