Moroccan Agriculture Minister Participates in Berlin’s International Green WeekPalestinian young man shot and injured in Nablus area confrontations

Morocco’s Mohammed Sadiki, the Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests of Morocco, joined the grand opening ceremony of the 88th edition of the International Green Week in Berlin on Thursday.

The event, which runs from January 19 to 28 in Berlin, witnessed the presence of various dignitaries, including the German Minister of Agriculture and Food, the European Commissioner for Agriculture, and numerous agriculture ministers from around the world.

In a significant move, Minister Sadiki inaugurated the Moroccan pavilion on Friday, accompanied by Cem Özdemir, the German Minister of Agriculture and Food, along with the Moroccan Ambassador to Germany, Zohour Alaoui, and several other prominent figures.

The Moroccan pavilion, organized by Morocco Foodex, showcased the contributions of about twenty cooperatives and economic interest groups representing different regions of Morocco. The exhibition featured a diverse array of Moroccan local products, emphasizing the nation’s cultural richness and authenticity.

The primary objective of Morocco’s participation in the Berlin Green Week is to showcase and promote Moroccan agri-food products, with a particular emphasis on local products. Additionally, the delegation aims to strengthen the export of agri-food products and explore new international markets for Moroccan offerings.

Launched in 1926, the International Green Week in Berlin stands as one of the largest global events dedicated to food, agriculture, and horticulture. This year’s edition brings together over 1,400 exhibitors from approximately sixty countries. The event is expected to attract more than 300,000 visitors to explore the latest innovations and trends in agriculture, all within an expansive area of 118,000 square meters.

GAZA: A Palestinian youth was injured tonight by Israeli forces’ bullets during a military incursion into the Rafidiya neighborhood, west of Nablus, said a local official.

Ahmad Jibril, the Head of the Palestinian Red Crescent Emergency and Ambulance Department in Nablus, said that a young man, aged 20, was shot and injured in the foot by the Israeli army’s bullets during confrontations that broke out in the said neighborhood.
