San Salvador: The second session of the political consultation mechanism between Morocco and El Salvador was co-chaired on Monday in San Salvador by Fouad Yazourh, Ambassador Director General of Bilateral Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, and Adriana Mira, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of El Salvador. During this session, both parties reviewed the state of bilateral relations and explored ways to further strengthen them in areas of common interest, particularly development cooperation and economic exchanges.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, discussions also covered various current issues of interest to both countries and their respective regions. Adriana Mira highlighted the importance of this session for El Salvador, emphasizing their strategy to deepen ties with Morocco, which she described as a key partner and gateway to the African continent. Mira expressed El Salvador’s willingness to strengthen the bonds of friendship and collaboration with Morocco.
Mira further noted that Morocco is one of El Salvador’s main allies in Africa and is the first African nation to host a Salvadoran embassy, making it a strategic partner to reinforce and expand ties with the region.
Fouad Yazourh commended the progress made by the Salvadoran government, especially in security, which has aided the country’s development efforts. He emphasized Morocco’s desire to enhance relations with El Salvador to tackle current challenges, and expressed a commitment to integrate El Salvador’s interests into Morocco’s agenda.
Both parties agreed to jointly implement cooperation projects in high-value sectors, including tourism, renewable energy, health, education, environment, and culture. They also discussed the importance of mutual opportunities to boost economic exchanges through trade and investment promotion.
