Morocco Finances Emergency Campaign to Support Health, Education in Al-Quds

Rabat: The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency launched an emergency campaign on Tuesday aimed at supporting the health and education sectors in Al-Quds, amid the difficult conditions the Holy City is experiencing, carried out in partnership with the Moroccan Association for Support of Reconstruction in Palestine.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the Agency handed over a batch of electronic tablets to the Directorate of Education in the town of Al-Ram, north of Al-Quds, to support the continuity of the city’s disrupted educational process. It also delivered first-aid kits to neighborhood committees in the Old City of Al-Quds, which has been under lockdown for over three weeks due to the security situation in the Middle East. These kits notably include first-aid supplies for emergency situations, alongside other equipment.

On this occasion, the Director of Education in Al-Quds, Samir Jibril, expressed his deep gratitude to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, as well as to the Moroccan people, for their continued support for the Holy City and its inhabitants, and for their commitment to the students’ right to education, strengthening their resilience, and ensuring the continuation of their educational journey in schools and universities. He also emphasized that this initiative comes at a critical time, noting that this equipment will allow students to continue their schooling, particularly in the face of challenges related to distance learning, adding that the difficult economic conditions in Al-Quds prevent many learners from affording such devices.

For her part, the principal of the Al-Aqsa Girls’ High School, Amal Abou Al-Rub, indicated that this initiative will have a significant impact on strengthening distance learning for students, thereby helping them overcome difficulties related to the lack of necessary electronic equipment. Meanwhile, the deputy principal of Al-Oumma High School, Soufiane Allan, praised the generous support of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency. He emphasized the importance of such initiatives in the current context, which is marked by numerous challenges and pressures, particularly on the education sector.

Regarding the health support intended for Palestinian citizens in Al-Quds, representatives of neighborhood committees and associations in the Old City highlighted the importance of this emergency campaign amid growing social and political pressures. In this sense, Samer Khalil, a member of the youth committee, stated that this initiative reflects the deep relations between the Moroccan and Palestinian peoples, insisting on the importance of delivering this aid to its beneficiaries. Echoing this sentiment, Marouane Ghanim, a youth committee member from the Al-Wad neighborhood, praised the Agency’s initiative to distribute aid and first-aid kits within the Old City. He stressed that this action is a continuation of Morocco’s steadfast support for the Palestinian cause and the inhabitants of Al-Quds.
