Rabat: Morocco, under the guidance of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, is navigating geopolitical shifts with assurance and resolve, solidifying its status as a credible actor on regional and international stages, according to Speaker of the House of Councilors Mohamed Ould Errachid on Tuesday. Speaking at the conclusion of the first session of the 2025-2026 legislative year, Ould Errachid highlighted the complex context of the session, characterized by geopolitical changes, economic and energy challenges, climate constraints, and growing social expectations, all of which demand states to bolster internal resilience and refine their development models.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Ould Errachid emphasized Morocco’s proactive approach under the Sovereign’s leadership, marked by anticipation, wisdom, and foresight. The nation’s clear strategic choices and ongoing structural reforms, which prioritize citizen-centric public policy, underpin its political and institutional stability, reinforcing Morocco’
s image as a trustworthy participant in its regional and international environments.
The speaker noted that Morocco’s hosting of the 35th Africa Cup of Nations exemplified this credibility, showcasing the country’s ability to organize major events to high standards, reflecting the maturity of its development model and its successful track record.
Additionally, Ould Errachid pointed out that parliamentary actions are aligned with the Kingdom’s momentum, supporting major national projects, harmonizing public policies, and endorsing a progressive reform methodology that has defined Morocco’s recent experience.
He highlighted the session’s alignment with a symbolic milestone in Morocco’s national cause, marked by the King’s declaration of October 31 as Unity Day, following the UN Security Council’s adoption of Resolution 2797. This resolution reaffirms the Moroccan autonomy initiative in the Southern provinces as a viable political solution to regional disputes.
