Morocco Viewed as ‘Reliable Partner’ and ‘Model’ of Strategic Vision, Says Peruvian Congresswoman

Buenos aires: “From Peru, we observe with great admiration Morocco’s modern, effective, and deeply humanistic diplomacy, which has made the country not only a trusted partner but also a model in a constantly evolving world,” she told MAP-Buenos Aires on the occasion of the 26th anniversary of the enthronement of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the Peruvian congresswoman highlighted Morocco’s structural transformation, attributing it to a sustained policy of investment in infrastructure. This investment has not only modernized Morocco but also redefined its regional and international positioning. She emphasized that this transformation is a result of His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s strategic vision, which aims at strengthening Morocco’s role as a bridge between Africa, Europe, and the Americas.

The congresswoman noted the Tanger Med Port as a key project they visited, which has established Morocco as a maritime powerhouse. Another significant development is the high-speed rail line, the first in Africa, which was designed and executed in record time.

In addition, Morocco is transforming the city of Dakhla into a new maritime hub with the construction of the Dakhla Atlantic Port. This development will enhance Morocco’s integration with African and Latin American markets and reinforce the strategic importance of the southern provinces as an intercontinental connection platform.

Morocco also boasts a vast network of modern highways and international-standard airport infrastructure, establishing it as the leading air hub on the African continent.

On the diplomatic front, Morocco has emerged as a central and respected player in Africa, the Arab world, and globally, thanks to its proactive and dialogue-driven diplomacy. The country has successfully balanced the defense of its national interests with an openness to the world. The autonomy plan presented by Morocco in 2007 to the United Nations to resolve the Sahara issue has received widespread international support from over 120 countries, including the United States, Spain, France, the United Kingdom, and many others across various continents.

Morocco’s commitment to strengthening multilateralism and building strong ties with Latin America is evident. Its admission as an observer member of the Andean Community marked a significant step, reinforced by participation in regional organizations like the Latin American Parliament, the Andean Parliament, the Organization of American States, and the Pacific Alliance.

Regarding the status of women, the congresswoman praised Morocco’s empowerment process for women, highlighting it as a pillar of the deep legal and institutional reforms that have transformed their role in society. This process embodies Morocco’s will to build an inclusive society, where women’s leadership is a driving force for social cohesion and the advancement of the Kingdom.
