Royal Diplomacy Positions Morocco as Strategic Global Player, Says Argentine MP

Rabat: In a statement to MAP news agency in Buenos Aires as part of the lead-up to the Throne Day celebrations, Enriquez noted that since the accession of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the throne, Moroccan diplomacy has stood out for its pragmatism and long-term vision, allowing the Kingdom to become a strategic player on the global stage particularly in Africa, Europe, and the Arab world.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, this diplomatic strength is based on the diversification of strategic alliances with traditional and emerging powers, the promotion of tolerant Islam through religious and cultural diplomacy, and active participation in multilateral organizations and international forums.

This active diplomacy, he added, has been demonstrated by Morocco’s return to the African Union in 2017 and the progress made on the Sahara issue, with growing international support for the Moroccan autonomy plan.

Recalling the establishment of diplomatic relations between Morocco and Argentina in 1960, the Argentine lawmaker emphasized that the two countries maintain “smooth bilateral cooperation,” particularly in the fields of agriculture, education, and culture.

Asked about Morocco’s infrastructure achievements in recent years, Enriquez noted that “Morocco’s transformation has been colossal, driven by projects that have improved its connectivity, boosted its appeal to investors, and modernized its economic fabric.”

Among the most emblematic achievements, he cited the Tanger Med port-a key logistics hub in the Mediterranean and Africa-the “Al Boraq” high-speed rail line, the first of its kind on the African continent, the Noor solar power plant in Ouarzazate, one of the largest in the world, as well as the modern network of highways and airports.

He also highlighted the creation of free zones and industrial areas, in addition to the automotive and aerospace sectors, which are attracting significant foreign investment.
