Morocco’s Loudyi Receives Gambian Defense Minister to Boost Military Cooperation


Rabat: In a move to bolster bilateral relations, Morocco’s Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of the National Defense Administration, Abdellatif Loudyi, welcomed the Gambian Defense Minister. This visit marked a significant step in enhancing military cooperation between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of The Gambia, as highlighted by the signing of a Cooperation Agreement in the military domain.



According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the agreement encompasses various areas of collaboration, including training, exercises, exchange visits, and the sharing of experiences and expertise in fields of mutual interest. A Joint Military Commission will be established to outline the cooperation framework, with meetings to be held alternately in Rabat and Banjul.



During their discussions, the ministers explored the different facets of bilateral cooperation and identified avenues for strengthening ties in areas of shared interest. They underscored the constructive roles played by both nations in promoting stability, security, and peace across Africa.



Furthermore, the meeting served as a platform to underscore various South-South cooperation initiatives and regional integration efforts spearheaded by His Majesty King Mohammed VI. These initiatives position Morocco as a proactive contributor to stability and shared prosperity across the continent.



Concluding the meeting, both officials expressed a shared commitment to further solidify their relations through the practical implementation of the newly signed military cooperation agreement.
