Rabat: The King’s Prosecutor General at the Court of Cassation and President of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, Hicham Balaoui, received a high-level judicial delegation from Burkina Faso on a working visit to Morocco, on Wednesday in Rabat.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, during this meeting, Balaoui highlighted the depth of the fraternal and historical relations uniting the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Burkina Faso, marked by mutual respect and fruitful cooperation in various fields, notably in the area of justice. Balaoui also noted that this visit constitutes an important opportunity to exchange expertise and best practices, to highlight the evolution of the Public Prosecution institution in Morocco, and to explore avenues for strengthening judicial cooperation between the two institutions, serving the common interests of both countries.
The two parties also emphasized the need to strengthen continuous coordination and consultation, with the aim of addressing the challenges related to
transnational organized crime and fighting against impunity, in order to uphold the values of justice and the rule of law. The meeting was also an opportunity to reaffirm the shared commitment of both parties to further consolidate judicial cooperation and to remain open to various initiatives capable of strengthening the partnership and the exchange of expertise between the judicial institutions of the two countries.
The Burkinabe delegation, headed by the First President of the Court of Cassation, Pascal Bamouni, and the Prosecutor General at said court, Sanou Arsène Francis, is conducting a working visit to Morocco with a view to further strengthening judicial cooperation relations and fostering the exchange of expertise between the two brotherly countries.
