Rabat: President Donald Trump announced on Friday that he appointed Duke Buchan III as US ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco, emphasizing that he will play “a pivotal role as we strengthen peace, freedom, and prosperity for both of our countries.”
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Trump made the announcement on his Truth Social platform, expressing his pleasure in appointing Duke Buchan III to the diplomatic role. The appointment is aimed at fortifying the relationship between the United States and Morocco.
Duke Buchan III previously served as the United States ambassador to Spain and Andorra from 2017 to 2021. His experience in diplomatic roles is expected to contribute to his new position in Morocco.
Born in 1963, Buchan earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics and Spanish from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and later obtained a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School. This educational background supports his capabilities in handling international relations
and economic discussions.
