Safran CEO Highlights Moroccan Talent and Infrastructure as Key to Industrial Growth

Nouaceur: Safran CEO Olivier Andriès has emphasized the vital role of Moroccan talent and infrastructure in driving the company’s industrial momentum under the royal impetus. Speaking on the “Good Morning Business” program on the French channel BFM Business, Andriès expressed the strategic significance of Morocco for Safran, citing the decision to invest in the aircraft engine complex in Nouaceur due to the favorable conditions, skilled workforce, and modern infrastructure present in the country.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Andriès praised Morocco’s robust engineering education institutions and stable economic environment, which have been pivotal over the past 25 years in the gradual development of Safran’s activities in the country. Currently, the group employs 5,000 people in Morocco, with Andriès commending the extraordinary talent, commitment, and operational excellence of the workforce.

Andriès further disclosed Safran’s plans to increase its aircraft engine assembly capacity, in line with
the production ramp-up by major clients, Airbus and Boeing. This expansion is part of Safran’s resilience strategy, ensuring a dual-source setup for its operations. The investment includes aircraft nacelles manufacturing, with one site for Airbus A320 nacelles in Casablanca, which Andriès noted is performing exceptionally well.

His Majesty King Mohammed VI recently presided over the presentation and commencement of construction for Safran Group’s new industrial complex in Nouaceur. This facility will feature an assembly and testing plant for aircraft engines and a maintenance and repair center for the LEAP engines, aimed at creating numerous job opportunities for young Moroccans in alignment with their training.
