UNSC Resolution Affirms Morocco’s Role as Key Regional and International Power: Government Head

Rabat: Speaking during a session at the House of Representatives, the head of government, Akhannouch, highlighted the significance of the UN Security Council resolution concerning the Moroccan Sahara.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, this resolution not only confirms international recognition of Morocco’s territorial integrity but also enhances Morocco’s status as a regional and international power under the leadership of King Mohammed VI.

Akhannouch emphasized that the resolution results from Morocco’s strategic vision and its active role in promoting peace, coexistence, and tolerance both regionally and internationally. He credited 26 years of Royal Diplomacy for these achievements, noting its recognition by the international community for wisdom and credibility.

The Sahara issue has transitioned from stagnation to dynamic management, leading to internal and external changes. Akhannouch noted that this development opens the door for constructive dialogue and consensus among all parties involved.

He stressed that Royal Diplomacy’s strategic dimension goes beyond political discourse, relying on continuous actions across various fronts. Economic and social development projects, in particular, play a crucial role in combating social insecurity and are seen as benefits of the King’s efforts.

The head of government also referenced ‘Aid Al Wahda’ (Unity Day), a national holiday declared by the Sovereign on October 31. This day commemorates King Mohammed VI’s inspiring leadership and the country’s stability and progress. It highlights the unity of the Moroccan people and their support for the King’s leadership, aiming to build a prosperous Greater Maghreb.

Akhannouch praised the political and electoral participation in the southern provinces, reflecting their commitment to Morocco’s territorial integrity. He noted that this involvement strengthens national unity and demonstrates that these provinces fully enjoy their constitutional and civil rights.
