Upper House Deputy Speaker Engages with Ghanaian Parliamentary Delegation


Rabat: Upper House Deputy Speaker recently held a meeting with a Ghanaian parliamentary delegation, emphasizing the quality of bilateral relations, which have seen significant growth in various areas. This progress is attributed to the ongoing support from the leaders of both nations, particularly following the historic visit of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to Ghana in February 2017. This visit marked a pivotal moment in the bilateral relations between the two countries, illustrating a shared political will and commitment to strengthening ties at multiple levels.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the meeting served as an occasion to spotlight the initiatives led by His Majesty King Mohammed VI for the comprehensive development of the African continent. Notably, the Royal Atlantic Initiative aims to facilitate the access of Sahel countries to the Atlantic Ocean, enhancing regional connectivity and cooperation.

During the meeting, Haddad expressed his satisfaction with the achievements made by Morocco
and Ghana across various sectors, including trade and investment in agriculture, energy, and mines. He highlighted Moroccan expertise in areas such as phosphates, through the OCP Group, as well as advancements in agriculture, housing, and infrastructure.

Meanwhile, Dumelo reaffirmed Ghana’s strong desire to further consolidate and advance bilateral relations with Morocco. He stressed the importance of maintaining the current momentum of cooperation, which is experiencing qualitative improvements in numerous fields. Dumelo also highlighted the necessity of promoting solidarity and joint action among African countries to achieve sustainable development, leveraging the continent’s rich natural and human resources.
