Winners for 23rd National Press Grand Prize Unveiled


Rabat: The honorary prize, which awards figures from the media world for their contribution to the evolution of the national media landscape and the recognition of the noble principles of the profession, was presented jointly to journalist and editor-in-chief of ‘Quid.ma,’ Naïm Kamal, and the late Said El Jadidi, former journalist at the Spanish desk of SNRT.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the honorary award for Moroccan journalists working in foreign media outlets was awarded to Jawad Badda, a journalist with the beIN Sports channel, and Fatima Zahra Bouaziz, the Spanish news agency EFE’s correspondent in Morocco.

As for the television award, it was shared by journalists Abdellah Jaafari of Medi1 TV, for his report on the Mohammed VI Football Academy, and Younes El Bdiwi, a journalist at the Cultural Channel (SNRT), for his report on the Scientific Waqf in Morocco.

The radio prize was awarded jointly to Alidaa Alwatania journalists Nabila Qamimi for her report on the epic Green March and Mounia
Arshi for her work on proposals to reform the Family Code.

In the print media category, the prize went to journalist Nabila Bakas of Le Matin newspaper for her article ‘Public hospitals… when security guards lay down the law.’

With regards to the electronic press category, this year’s prize was awarded to Khadija Alimoussa of TelQuel Arabi for her article on the recruitment of children in Tindouf.

In the agency press category, the prize was secured by journalist Mohamed Haddadi for his article ‘The rosary, unrivaled favorite among pilgrims’ gifts.’

The investigative journalism prize was awarded to 2M journalists Asma Aïnoun and Zakaria Dhalfi for their work ‘Programme Moukhtafoun: the Marouane Al-Mokaddem affair.’

The prize for Amazigh journalism was presented jointly to Ibrahim Ishwi, a journalist at Radio Amazigh, for his report ‘Tada… when Amazigh tribal custom overtakes international law in conflict resolution,’ and Fadwa Amghar, a journalist at the same radio station, for her work ‘Mussel harves
ting in the province of Tiznit.’

In turn, the prize for journalism on Hassani Sahrawi culture and territory was awarded to Cheikh MaS El-Ainine, a journalist at Radio LaSyoune, for his report on the Tiznit-Dakhla highway, and to Ghali Karhi, a journalist at Chaine LaSyoune, for his report on horses in Oued-noun.

The regional press prize was secured by Hafedh Malain from the LaSyoune Now news site for his report entitled ‘The Glorious Green March, half a century of loyalty.’

The photography prize was awarded to photojournalist Abdelmajid Bziouat from L’Économiste for his work ‘M’hamid el Ghizlan… temple of nomadic heritage.’

The prize for the caricature category was not awarded this year.

The ceremony was marked by tributes to several media personalities, including Leïla MaS Al Ainine, Mohamed Dakka, Mohamed Seddik Maaninou, and sports journalist Lino Bako.
