Marrakech: The Minister of Justice, Abdellatif Ouahbi, held talks on Tuesday in Marrakech with the permanent secretary of the Organization for the Harmonization of Business Law in Africa (OHADA), Mayatta Ndiaye Mbaye, on the means of boosting the convergence between the legal framework governing business climate in the Organization’s area and the Moroccan investment system.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, these talks, held on the sidelines of the 14th International Forum on the e-APP, emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation between the Kingdom and the African organization in the legal domain, particularly in matters related to the business climate. This collaboration aligns with the dynamic of reforms occurring in various sectors of the Kingdom.
The discussions highlighted the crucial role this partnership could play in supporting ongoing reforms and strengthening institutional and technical exchanges between the two parties. On this occasion, the OHADA permanent secretary noted that Mor
occo’s dedication to modernizing its legal system serves as a ‘model’ at the continental level, offering promising prospects for strengthening multilateral partnerships.
At the conclusion of the talks, both parties reaffirmed the significance of continued coordination and the intensification of expertise and experience exchanges. This collaboration aims to contribute to enhancing the efficiency of the legal system and bolstering the competitiveness of the business climate in Morocco. OHADA is a regional organization committed to strengthening legal integration among member states, with an objective to unify business law by adopting binding uniform acts.
