Rabat: The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, and the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom, David Lammy, co-chaired the 5th session of the Strategic Dialogue between Morocco and the UK on Sunday in Rabat. This session signifies a pivotal moment in the relations between the two nations, characterized by a positive momentum in bilateral cooperation and the UK’s endorsement of the Autonomy Plan proposed by Morocco in 2007.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, both Ministers expressed a shared commitment to open a new, more ambitious chapter of cooperation, with a forward-looking perspective that includes an African dimension aimed at promoting peace, security, and economic development across the continent. The session allowed the Ministers to exchange views on mutual interests and reaffirm their dedication to enhancing political and security dialogue, as well as deepening and diversifying the economic partnership.
Initiated in London on July 5, 2018, the Strategic Dialogue is a vital mechanism to consolidate the historic ties between the two Kingdoms and to further reinforce and deepen bilateral relations. It is organized around key themes such as political, security, economic, cultural, and people-to-people exchanges, and also addresses regional, international, and multilateral issues.
