Liberia’s Minister of Agriculture Highlights Morocco’s Water Management Success


Meknes: Liberia’s Minister of Agriculture, Alexander Nuetah, emphasized Morocco’s water resources management capacity during a meeting on Wednesday, describing it as a ‘remarkable’ example for countries facing water stress.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Nuetah made these remarks following a bilateral meeting with Morocco’s Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests, Ahmed El Bouari. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 17th International Agricultural Exhibition in Morocco (SIAM). Nuetah noted that Morocco has managed to modernize its agriculture and increase productivity despite water scarcity, thanks to advanced irrigation techniques and the integration of new technologies.

The Liberian official highlighted Morocco’s success in making rational water management a strategic lever for food security. He expressed his country’s readiness to benefit from the Moroccan experience and was particularly impressed by the diversity of livestock exhibited a
t SIAM. Nuetah also praised Morocco’s achievements in dairy and beef production and the Kingdom’s organizational capacities.

He further emphasized that Morocco stands out for its progress in agricultural mechanization and the use of new technologies to optimize agricultural production. This year’s SIAM, organized under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI, features 1,500 exhibitors from 70 countries and is held under the theme: ‘Agriculture and the Rural World: Water at the Heart of Sustainable Development.’
