Rabat: Morocco’s tourism sector is experiencing a significant growth spurt, as the country welcomed 11.6 million tourists by the end of July 2025. The Ministry of Tourism highlighted these figures in a recent press release, noting that Moroccan expatriates accounted for 52% of the total arrivals.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the month of July alone saw the arrival of 2.7 million tourists, reflecting a 6% increase compared to the same period last year. This upward trend underscores Morocco’s growing appeal to both foreign tourists and the Moroccan diaspora.
The press release detailed that foreign tourist arrivals reached 875,000 in July, marking a 2% rise from the previous year. Meanwhile, 1.8 million Moroccan expatriates visited the country, showing a significant 7% increase.
Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts and Social and Solidarity Economy, Fatim-Zahra Ammor, emphasized Morocco’s status as a popular and exploratory destination for millions of global tourists. She attributed the sustained positive momentum in tourism to the combined interest of local tourists, the Moroccan diaspora, and international visitors.
The Ministry’s statement also highlighted the ongoing commitment to addressing tourists’ needs and enhancing the travel experience. These efforts align with the 2023-2026 tourism roadmap priorities, reinforcing Morocco’s dedication to maintaining its tourism appeal.
