Rabat: In execution of the High Royal Instructions, the minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of the National Defense Administration, Abdeltif Loudyi, received on Monday a delegation from the U.S. Congress led by the Chairman of the Committee on Ways and Means, Jason Smith, on an official working visit to the Kingdom.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the meeting highlighted the excellence of the long-standing ties between Morocco and the United States of America and the high level of cooperation achieved in the military field. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to consolidating mutually beneficial relations and enhancing bilateral cooperation.
The discussions also covered the state of defense cooperation, notably marked by regular meetings of the Defense Advisory Committee and frequent visits by senior officials. The joint organization of the large-scale annual exercise “African Lion” was emphasized as a major lever serving the interoperability of armed forces from participatin
g countries.
Loudyi expressed appreciation for the United States’ support of Morocco’s sovereignty over its territory and acknowledged the constructive efforts in this regard. He also highlighted Morocco’s initiatives in South-South cooperation and regional integration under King Mohammed VI’s guidance, establishing Morocco as a proactive force for stability and prosperity in Africa.
The U.S. Congressional delegation commended the leadership of King Mohammed VI, recognizing Morocco as a pivotal actor in regional stability and prosperity amid various security challenges. Both parties concluded the meeting with a shared ambition to bolster this strategic partnership and enhance the exemplary relations of trust and friendship between the two nations.
