ONDA Sets Morocco on Course for Next-Generation Air Navigation

Rabat: ONDA is spearheading a strategic initiative aimed at revolutionizing Morocco’s air navigation infrastructure. This strategy centers on the modernization of control towers, the integration of cutting-edge technology, and the continuous development of operational teams. The objective is to enhance safety, streamline operations, and ensure service continuity amid strong traffic growth.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, a prime example of this initiative is the newly constructed control tower at Nador El Aroui Airport. This eight-story, 26-meter-high facility demonstrates ONDA’s commitment to advancing regional economic and tourism development through state-of-the-art infrastructure.

Nador Airport, handling over one million passengers in 2024, now features a fully modern control center. This center is equipped with next-generation communication, data processing, and meteorological systems, showcasing the latest advancements in air navigation technology.

The tower’s design and implementation were
entirely managed by Moroccan expertise, with its commissioning carried out seamlessly. This achievement was made possible through precise coordination between Air Safety engineers and Air Traffic Controllers, ensuring no disruption to air traffic during the transition.

This development represents a significant milestone in ONDA’s national air navigation modernization program, which will soon include the construction of new towers in Marrakech and Casablanca.
