Rabat: Trent Kelly, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, reiterated on Monday in Rabat his support for the autonomy plan presented by Morocco for the final resolution of the regional dispute over the Moroccan Sahara, while expressing his support for United Nations Security Council Resolution 2797.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Kelly, representative of the State of Mississippi, stated his strong support for the Moroccan autonomy proposal, which is embodied in UN Security Council Resolution 2797. This statement followed his meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates Nasser Bourita and a delegation of U.S. congressmen visiting the Kingdom.
On this occasion, Kelly highlighted the deep historic ties between the Kingdom of Morocco and the United States of America, recalling that Morocco was the first supporter of his country’s independence. He praised the enduring ties between the two countries, which have been marked by 250 years of partnership and friendship.
