Morocco’s Top Police Chief Engages in Strategic Talks with Liberia’s Inspector General


Rabat: Morocco’s Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance (DGSN-DGST), Abdellatif Hammouchi, received the Inspector General of the Liberia National Police, Gregory Coleman, on Monday in Rabat. The official was accompanied by Liberia’s Ambassador to Rabat and a high-level security delegation.



According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Liberian security services expressed their will to draw on Moroccan expertise and build on its security achievements to develop Liberia’s police structures. During the meeting, Coleman expressed his intent to foster coordination with the DGSN-DGST by leveraging the experience of the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations (BCIJ) in countering extremism and terrorism, as well as that of the National Brigade of Judicial Police (BNPJ) to combat all forms of organized crime. He further highlighted his country’s interest in Morocco’s advancements in scientific and technical police laboratories.



Given their shared commitment to security cooperation, both parties agreed to draft a bilateral Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that is intended to regulate and diversify the partnership across several areas of common interest. The agreement is slated to be signed in Rabat in May 2026, coinciding with the 70th anniversary of the DGSN.



Additionally, Hammouchi met earlier with Indonesia’s Ambassador to Morocco, Yuyu Sutisna. Their talks focused on topics of mutual interest, specifically the activation and implementation of existing bilateral agreements and the development of a joint MoU to serve as a comprehensive framework for security cooperation.



These talks form part of the Pole’s willingness to open up more on various international and regional partners, and to broaden partnerships in security, the exchange of expertise with friendly and brotherly countries.
