Abu dhabi: Morocco’s top police chief has embarked on a business trip to the United Arab Emirates with the aim of reinforcing the security partnership and expanding bilateral cooperation between the two countries in policing and security matters. The Directorate General of DGSN-DGST announced the commencement of this visit on September 23.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, during the visit, Morocco’s leading police official engaged in discussions with Talal Rashid Al Zaabi, the Director of UAE’s State Security Service, who was accompanied by a senior delegation. The meeting centered around bilateral consultations on shared interests and challenges.
The dialogue also covered regional and global security threats, particularly focusing on terrorism and extremism risks in conflict zones globally, with a special emphasis on the Sahel region in Africa.
Both parties evaluated methods to bolster operational collaboration between their agencies, particularly in combating cross-border organized crime. This includes the activation and implementation of joint security operation mechanisms.
Additionally, the discussions highlighted the importance of diversifying and expanding bilateral cooperation, primarily through the exchange of expertise across various security domains. Emphasizing the enhancement of coordination and information sharing, these efforts aim to provide a decisive and proactive response to threats against both nations’ security.
