Rabat: Parliamentary diplomacy is an essential lever for strengthening the partnership between Morocco and France by giving dialogue and rapprochement a lasting institutional dimension, the Speaker of the House of Councillors, Mohamed Ould Errachid, emphasized on Thursday in Rabat.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the Moroccan-French parliamentary experience has highlighted the central role played by legislative institutions in consolidating bilateral relations and transforming national experiences into shared opportunities for cooperation and coordination. Ould Errachid stated this at the opening of the 5th session of the Morocco-France Parliamentary Forum, which took place on January 29-30.
In this regard, he noted that the holding of this session illustrates the depth of the partnership between the two legislative institutions, as well as the common willingness to pursue constructive parliamentary dialogue and coordination. This aligns with the enlightened vision of the leaders of both countries, His Majesty King Mohammed VI and the President of the French Republic, His Excellency Emmanuel Macron.
Building on this rich history and heritage, the event occurs in an international context where relations between states are no longer measured solely in terms of interests but also in terms of the depth of shared vision and the ability to build partnerships that are resilient in the face of major changes, marked by crises and significant challenges.
He also recalled that since its launch in 2013, the Morocco-France Parliamentary Forum has provided a regular framework for the two legislative institutions to engage in ongoing parliamentary dialogue. This confirms the special role this mechanism plays in strengthening bilateral relations and coordination.
He noted that this high-level institutional framework offers a renewed opportunity to deepen consultation and exchange of views, serving the future of this exceptional relationship.
