UK Endorses King Mohammed VI’s Role in Enhancing UK-Morocco Relations and Regional Stability


Rabat: The United Kingdom has expressed its endorsement of the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI in enhancing the relations between Morocco and the UK, promoting regional stability, and advancing national development. This sentiment was conveyed in a Joint Communiqué signed on Sunday in Rabat, following discussions between Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, and the UK’s Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, David Lammy.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the document underscores the ongoing efforts of King Mohammed VI and King Charles III in reinforcing ties between Morocco and the United Kingdom. It highlights their role in fostering the stability and commitment required for an ambitious strategic partnership aimed at future growth.

Regionally, the UK applauded the initiatives launched by King Mohammed VI aimed at achieving peace, stability, and socio-economic progress in Africa. This includes
recognition of the Atlantic African States Process and the International Royal Initiative to facilitate Sahel countries’ access to the Atlantic Ocean. These efforts are seen as part of the King’s strategic focus on the African continent’s development through pragmatic and solidarity-based cooperation.

The UK also acknowledged King Mohammed VI’s continued dedication to the Palestinian issue, praising his significant role as Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee. Furthermore, the communiqué welcomes and supports the substantial reforms undertaken in Morocco under King Mohammed VI’s leadership.
